Softball Game Preview: Omaha Westside Warriors vs. Millard North Mustangs

Omaha Westside hasn't had much luck against Millard North recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 6:15 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

On Monday, Omaha Westside needed a bit of extra time to put away Norfolk. They skirted past the Panthers 3-2.

Hannah Miller spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Omaha Westside secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Baylee Heffernan, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Millard North faced Bellevue East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Chieftains 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since August 29th.

Jadyn Pokorny was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Omaha Westside's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Millard North, their victory bumped their record up to 26-4.
