Despite the loss, University Pathways Medical Magnet got top-tier performance from Gianna Benitez, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, Benitez is now averaging an impressive 2.7 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Natalie Hartfield, who posted five points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Animo Watts put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 54-42 win over Neuwirth Leadership Academy. The Warriors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

University Pathways Medical Magnet better focus on containing Caitlin Rosales and Trisha Hernandez as the pair were huge in Animo Watts' win. Rosales dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 boards, while Hernandez posted 16 points along with seven boards and three steals. Rosales has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more boards the last 11 times she's played.

Animo Watts' victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.8 points per game. As for University Pathways Medical Magnet, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
