Softball Recap: Coffee Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Coffee and Veterans, and Veterans kept the tradition alive. The Trojans fell just short of the Warhawks by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Trojans have struggled against the Warhawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Coffee saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn Fender, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Fender is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Channah Smith also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Coffee's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Veterans, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

While Coffee had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
