Basketball Recap: Berwick Takes a Loss

Berwick lost against Wyoming Valley West two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Berwick Bulldogs lost to the Wyoming Valley West Spartans on the road by a 32-16 margin. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Spartans are ranked 207th).

Despite the loss, Berwick saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Grace Robbins posted eight points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Robbins a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (50%).

Even though they lost, Berwick smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Berwick's defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Wyoming Valley West, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.

As of now, neither Berwick nor Wyoming Valley West have any future games scheduled.
