Basketball Recap: Wyalusing Valley Snags Ninth Victory in Last 12 Games

Wyalusing Valley's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Wellsboro Hornets 58-35. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Hornets are ranked 509th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wyalusing Valley is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Wellsboro, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wyalusing Valley has already played their next contest (against Mansfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Wellsboro will host Towanda at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Towanda will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Wellsboro surely won't give up without a fight.
