Basketball Recap: Golden West Trailblazers vs. Monache Marauders
Golden West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 79-14 loss at the hands of the Monache Marauders. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trailblazers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 77-15 back in January.
Aniyah Venegas was Golden West's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Venegas also led the team in rebounds with eight.
Shelley Andrade was a one-woman wrecking crew for Monache as she went 8 of 10 en route to 19 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Andrade has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Milly Rojas, who went 7 for 12 on her way to 15 points and six rebounds.
Golden West's loss dropped their record down to 8-19. As for Monache, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-7.
Golden West will venture away from home to take on El Diamante at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monache, they will welcome Porterville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Monache is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season.
