Mercer piles up the points against Jamestown

Recap: Mercer Mustangs vs. Jamestown Muskies

The Mercer Mustangs came tearing into Monday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 52 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Jamestown 54-22 on the road. With Mercer ahead 35-11 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Despite the loss, Jamestown saw an underclassman step up: Alayna Cadman scored 13 points. The match was Cadman's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Audra Thomas was another key contributor, scoring five points.

Mercer's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Jamestown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Mercer will be playing at home against Reynolds at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Reynolds will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 632nd, while Mercer is ranked 284th). As for Jamestown, they will head out on the road to face off against Farrell at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
