Basketball Game Preview: Orange Glen Patriots vs. Maranatha Christian Eagles

The Orange Glen Patriots are taking a road trip to take on the Maranatha Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, Orange Glen ended up a good deal behind Escondido Adventist Academy and lost 46-27.

Meanwhile, Maranatha Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Horizon Prep, falling 39-16. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1330th, while the Lions are ranked 529th).

Orange Glen has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Maranatha Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Everything went Orange Glen's way against Maranatha Christian in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Orange Glen made off with a 34-12 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Orange Glen since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
