Sand Creek barely beat Woodland Park the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Scorpions put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-3 win on Monday. Considering the Scorpions have won six games by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Abigail Knapp was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Knapp was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Lyla Almeida was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
