Basketball Recap: Upper Perkiomen Comes Up Short

Upper Perkiomen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 32-22 defeat to the Pottsgrove Falcons. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by exactly ten points.

Pottsgrove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Leaman led the charge by putting up seven points and five steals. Leaman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Kendra Ivory was another key player, posting six points along with ten boards and four blocks.

Upper Perkiomen's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Pottsgrove, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-4.

Upper Perkiomen will head out to take on Phoenixville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pottsgrove, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Upper Moreland at 12:30 p.m.
