Soccer Game Preview: Sonora vs. Troy

Sonora is 1-8-1 against Troy since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Raiders will be playing at home against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Saturday, Sonora didn't have quite enough to beat Fullerton and fell 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Sonora came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Fullerton are ranked 330th).

Meanwhile, Troy didn't have quite enough to beat El Dorado on Thursday and fell 2-1.

Sonora's loss dropped their record down to 9-4-4. As for Troy, they now have a losing record of 4-5-2.

Sonora came up short against Troy in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
