Monte Vista Christian and Seaside are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monte Vista Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Seaside will be coming in after a loss.

Monte Vista Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 37-35 win over Soquel. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Monte Vista Christian found their leader in freshman Karina Fromm, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Hope Fromm, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, Seaside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by Menlo School 53-3. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-0.

Seaside's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Monte Vista Christian, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Monte Vista Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Seaside in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 56-44. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
