Softball Recap: Lakeside Vikings vs. Mill Creek Hawks
Lakeside extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 13-14. They came up short against the Mill Creek Hawks, falling 15-0. Considering the last time the Vikings couldn't score was back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.
As for Mill Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games.
For Mill Creek's part, Ashlin Ilczyszyn looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ilczyszyn has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Blair McClain was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Laila Torres, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base.
