Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Clovis Christian was dealt a 53-6 loss at the hands of Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Clovis Christian came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 26th in New Mexico, while Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy is ranked 232nd in Texas).

Meanwhile, Plainview Classical Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Hart 53-7.

Plainview Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Clovis Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything came up roses for Clovis Christian against Plainview Classical Academy in their previous meeting back in September, as the squad secured a 62-27 victory.
