Football Recap: Quinter Drops Season-High Score on Lacrosse

Quinter scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 58-44 bruising from the LaCrosse Leopards. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (34), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.

LaCrosse's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Rush, who rushed for 138 yards while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Rush is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 102 every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Lee Holopirek, who rushed for 71 yards and three scores.

Quinter now has a losing record of 2-3. As for LaCrosse, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Quinter is taking a road trip to square off against Ellis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Railroaders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for LaCrosse, they will take on Wichita County on Friday. The Leopards will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
