Hatch Valley won the last time they faced Hot Springs and things went their way on Friday too. The Bears enjoyed a cozy 32-13 victory over the Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Hatch Valley was led to victory by David Dumas and Demarcus Alaniz. Dumas rushed for 101 yards and one TD, while Alaniz picked up 40 receiving yards and one score. Dumas has become a key player for the Bears: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 2-3 otherwise.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hatch Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 247 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hot Springs only rushed for 57.

When it comes to explaining why Hot Springs lost, don't look at Billy Baca. Despite the final result, he picked up 61 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Hatch Valley now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Hot Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Hatch Valley will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Ruidoso at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. The Bears will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.88 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Hot Springs, they have already played their next contest, a 41-14 defeat against Dexter on the 24th.
