Soccer Recap: Mountain Empire Gets the Win

Mountain Empire had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They beat the Liberty Charter Lions by a goal, winning 3-2. For the Redhawks, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.

Kaylee Cardinez and Kassandra Herrera scored all three of Mountain Empire's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 43 goals.

Mountain Empire's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those three contests. As for Liberty Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Coming up, Mountain Empire will face off against Logan Memorial Education Campus at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain Empire is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.4 goals per game this season. Liberty Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
