Volleyball Recap: Sports & Medical Sciences Academy Has No Trouble Against Academy of Aerospace and Engineering

The Sports & Medical Sciences Academy Tigers got the win against the Academy of Aerospace and Engineering Jets on Friday by a conclusive 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

While Sports & Medical Sciences Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-11, 25-17.

Aidelyne Varela paced Sports & Medical Sciences Academy's offense, picking up 11 kills. Varela got some help from Lucynda Martir and her 13 assists. Martir also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Analiah Rivera, racking up eight apiece.

The win got Sports & Medical Sciences Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Academy of Aerospace and Engineering, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sports & Medical Sciences Academy will challenge Woodstock Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Academy of Aerospace and Engineering, they will take on Academy of Science and Innovation at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
