Football Recap: Prairie View Starts off Right with Win over Osawatomie

Prairie View took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past the Osawatomie Trojans, posting a 71-6 victory. The Buffalos haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Parker Schwarz was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 287 yards and five touchdowns on only nine carries. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 12th straight game with at least 107 rushing yards dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Goodwin, who rushed for 122 yards and three TDs on only eight carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Prairie View was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 549 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Prairie View didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. Chance Briggs and Schwarz each grabbed an interception.
