Basketball Game Preview: Berean Christian Eagles vs. Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles

Berean Christian is 0-7 against Clayton Valley Charter since January of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Berean Christian Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles at 7:00 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 68-23, which was the final score in Berean Christian's tilt against Mt. Diablo on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 701st, while the Red Devils are ranked 241st).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clayton Valley Charter). They really took it to Ygnacio Valley for the full four quarters, racking up an 87-38 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Ugly Eagles who have now won six contests in a row.

Clayton Valley Charter has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Berean Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Berean Christian came up short against Clayton Valley Charter in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 48-42. Can Berean Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
