Softball Recap: Albany Falls to Stanberry in First Game of Season

Albany had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stanberry Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Maddix Epperly and Jayden Hillyard did some serious damage despite the final result: Epperly went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple, while Hillyard went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Marley Hansel was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Albany wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-0 win against Pattonsburg on the 4th. Stanberry has also already played their next match (against North Harrison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
