Basketball Recap: River Islands Takes a Loss

River Islands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Millennium Falcons, falling 48-25.

It was another big night for Sarah Digiallonardo, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 23 rebounds for Millennium. That makes it four consecutive games in which Digiallonardo has scored at least a third of Millennium's points. Gianna Negrete was another key player, putting up seven points along with seven boards and five assists.

River Islands' loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Millennium, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 9-6.

River Islands wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-33 defeat against Central Catholic on the 23rd. Millennium has also already played their next contest, a 33-31 loss against Ben Holt College Prep Academy on the 24th.
