Rio Linda waltzed into their game on Thursday with 14 straight wins... but they left with 15. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 60-28 victory over the Destiny Christian Academy Lions. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-7.

LaRay Mitchell was her usual excellent self, going 8-for-12 on her way to 19 points and five rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kyrri Mitchell, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Rio Linda smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive games.

Destiny Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Aaliyah Wilcox, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dorothy Odufuwa, who scored two points and nine rebounds.

Rio Linda pushed their record up to 25-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points over those games. As for Destiny Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-14.

Rio Linda didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-31 victory against Beyer on the 18th. As for Destiny Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-32 win against Western Sierra Collegiate Academy on the 18th.
