Football Recap: Smith Center Finds Playoff Glory Versus Thomas More Prep-Marian + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Smith Center walked away with it. They came out on top against the Thomas More Prep-Marian Monarchs by a score of 24-14 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Redmen in their matchups with the Monarchs: they've now won eight in a row.

Riley Griffin Powers was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 161 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries. Those 161 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Brant Wilson was another key rusher, rushing for 136 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Smith Center was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 381 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thomas More Prep-Marian only rushed for 12.

Smith Center's record is now 10-0. As for Thomas More Prep-Marian, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-3 record.

Looking ahead, Smith Center will take on Moundridge on Friday. The Wildcats' defense has only allowed 11.7 points per game this season, so the Redmen's offense will have their work cut out for them. Thomas More Prep-Marian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
