Basketball Game Preview: Titusville Rockets vs. Hickory Hornets

Titusville hasn't had much luck against Hickory recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Titusville Rockets will venture away from home to take on the Hickory Hornets at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Titusville is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They took a hard 56-41 fall against Union City. One positive for the Rockets, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Hickory played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Fairview 54-20. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 480th, while the Tigers are ranked 113th).

Despite the loss, Hickory saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Audrey Harkless posted four points and five rebounds.

Titusville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Hickory, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Things could have been worse for Titusville, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-40 loss to Hickory in their previous matchup back in February of 2016. Can Titusville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
