Basketball Game Preview: King City Mustangs vs. Paso Robles Bearcats + How To Watch

King City hasn't had much luck against Paso Robles recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Bearcats at 6:30 p.m. King City is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

On Saturday, King City humbled Harbor with a 57-25 victory. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Paso Robles took on San Luis Obispo on Saturday. The Bearcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bearcats have suffered against the Tigers since December 17, 2019.

King City will have to keep a close watch on Genesis Gavilanes and Macoy Sill, a pair of players who had a big impact on Paso Robles' prior game. Gavilanes dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards, while Sill dropped a double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds. Sill has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last seven times she's played.

Paso Robles now has a losing record of 4-5. As for King City, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

King City took a serious blow against Paso Robles when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 55-25. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
