Softball Recap: Freedom Christian Academy's Undefeated Season over After 12 Games

After flying high against Faith Christian last Tuesday, Freedom Christian Academy came back down to earth. Freedom Christian Academy fell just short of the Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles by a score of 5-3 on Friday. The matchup marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Rylan Miller was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Miller wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Savannah Graham, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Having lost for the first time this season, Freedom Christian Academy fell to 11-1. As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Freedom Christian Academy will face off against North Raleigh Christian Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, they will square off against Ridgecroft at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Cape Fear Christian Academy 1, Ridgecroft 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
