Baseball Game Preview: Jackson Jaguars vs. Pace Academy Knights

Jackson has gone a perfect 3-0 against Pace Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. Jackson will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Jackson had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Forest Park on Monday. The Jaguars blew past the Panthers 9-2. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pace Academy). Everything went their way against M.L. King on Monday as they made off with an 18-3 victory. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Pace Academy got a great performance from Sawyer Barnette as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. The Knights are 5-1 when Barnette allows two or fewer earned runs, but 7-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Walker Kenna was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Duece Green was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Pace Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .655. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Jackson's record is now 17-9. As for Pace Academy, their record now sits at 12-9.

Jackson came out on top in a nail-biter against Pace Academy when the teams last played on Saturday, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
