Softball Game Preview: Pepperell Dragons vs. Paulding County Patriots

Pepperell is a perfect 3-0 against Paulding County since August of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Dragons will host the Patriots at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pepperell took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Gordon Central with a sharp 16-4 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Dragons' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Paulding County hadn't done well against South Paulding recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Patriots sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Spartans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since September 9, 2024.

Abbey Parish was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Parish wasn't the only one making solid contact: Paulding County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in September of 2024.

The victory got Paulding County back to even at 1-1. As for Pepperell, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Pepperell took their victory against Paulding County in their previous meeting back in September of 2022 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
