Soccer Recap: Decatur Takes a Loss

After soaring to eight goals the game before, Decatur was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They fell just short of the Woodward Academy War Eagles by a score of 2-1. Decatur were not able to make up for their defeat to Woodward Academy from their previous meeting back in April of 2019.

Decatur's goal came courtesy of TJ Smith, who's now up to 11 this season.

Decatur's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for Woodward Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Decatur wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Starr's Mill on the 1st. As for Woodward Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Chamblee on the 1st.
