Soccer Game Preview: Central vs. Douglas County

The Central Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Douglas County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Central took on Alexander on Friday. Central fell just short of Alexander by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Douglas County hadn't done well against South Cobb recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Thursday. Douglas County sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over South Cobb. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Tigers were the better team in the second half.

Elliot Agyekum and Ethan Agyekum scored both of Douglas County's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

The win got Douglas County back to even at 1-1. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Douglas County when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
