Football Recap: Corbin Medack's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Giddings over La Grange

Giddings had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-7 to make it four. They came up short against the La Grange Leopards, falling 66-40. The Buffaloes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-14.

Several Buffaloes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Corbin Medack, who threw for 235 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 70 yards and one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Gunnar Fromme, who picked up 140 receiving yards and one score.

As for La Grange, they now have a winning record of 5-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

La Grange's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dillan Johnson, who rushed for 120 yards and five TDs on only 13 carries. Eli Gillum was another key player, throwing for 287 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt.

Giddings has already played their next matchup, a 49-10 defeat against Madisonville on the 7th. As for La Grange, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 42-7 loss against Sealy on the 7th.
