Baseball Recap: The King's Academy Has No Trouble Against St. Francis

The King's Academy lost to St. Francis last Thursday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. Everything went The King's Academy's way against St. Francis as The King's Academy made off with a 13-3 win. The King's Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by eight runs or more this season.

Davis Windham made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He also tossed two walks, which is notable because The King's Academy is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 2-4 otherwise. Windham was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jimmy Anderson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Joel Martin also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The King's Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The King's Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for St. Francis, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Looking ahead, The King's Academy will venture away from home to square off against Scholars Guild Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Francis, they will welcome Fellowship Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fellowship Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something St. Francis surely won't give up without a fight.
