Basketball Recap: Madison's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Madison was feeling good fresh off their 56-11 takedown of Clairemont last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Madison Warhawks took a 37-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crawford Colts on Friday. It was the first time this season that the Warhawks let down their fans at home.

Fatuma Abdi continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Crawford, putting up 28 points and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Abdi has scored at least a third of Crawford's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aisha Hassan, who posted two points.

Madison's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5. As for Crawford, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season.

Madison didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 37-27 loss against Santana on the 18th. Crawford has also already played their next contest, a 53-43 win against Southwest SD on the 22nd.
