Football Recap: Bryce Hanson and Dennis Perry Pace Liberty Defense + How To Watch

Liberty made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Central East, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Patriots fell just short of the Bengals by a score of 35-33 on Friday. The loss leaves the Patriots still looking for their first win of the season.

When it comes to explaining why Liberty lost, don't look at Gavin Parham. Despite the final result, he threw for 210 yards and three TDs on only 17 passes, and also rushed for 109 yards on only 11 carries. Parham's longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Elmo Whitten was Parham's top target, picking up 30 receiving yards, while also rushing for 111 yards and one score on only 11 carries.

Liberty didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bryce Hanson and Dennis Perry.

It was another big night for Jelani Dippel, who threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 52 yards for Central East. Dippel has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Central East, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Liberty wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 17-10 win against Independence on the 26th. As for Central East, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Clovis North at 7:00 p.m. on October 2. The Bengals will need to watch out since the Broncos have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
