Softball Recap: George Washington Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Vista PEAK Prep, George Washington was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 17-6 margin over the Thomas Jefferson Spartans. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Patriots considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Gracie Arellano was incredible, firing off five runs, five RBI, and three doubles while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Muggy Duffy, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: George Washington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

George Washington's victory ended an eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-16. As for Thomas Jefferson, they are on a 21-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-21.

As of now, neither George Washington nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
