Roosevelt took an 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Valley Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Presidents never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Monday. The win was familiar territory for the Presidents, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Nicholas Hartwell was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Roosevelt's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Valley Central, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will challenge Pine Plains at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Presidents' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bombers have averaged an impressive 11.2 runs per game this season. As for Valley Central, they will face off against Goshen Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
