Baseball Game Preview: South Colonels vs. Bartlett Indians

The South Colonels will head out to face off against the Bartlett Indians at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

South is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since May 17, 2025 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Oxford 12-11. South's victory was all the more impressive since the Pirates were averaging only 3.31 runs allowed on the season.

Meanwhile, Bartlett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 13-1 to Doherty Memorial.

Bartlett saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenny Arpin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Arpin has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Xavier Butler also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

South's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Bartlett, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

Everything went South's way against Bartlett in their previous meeting back in April, as South made off with a 16-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colonels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
