Soccer Game Preview: Holy Innocents Episcopal vs. Hardeeville

The Holy Innocents Episcopal Golden Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Hardeeville Canes at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Holy Innocents Episcopal's offense. They fell 2-0 to Bluffton on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Holy Innocents Episcopal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 262nd in Georgia, while Bluffton are ranked 34th in South Carolina).

Meanwhile, Hardeeville came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Royal Knights.

Hardeeville pushed their record up to 6-7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those four games. As for Holy Innocents Episcopal, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-8.
