Softball Recap: California Pintos vs. Blair Oaks Falcons

California extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-6. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blair Oaks Falcons. The Pintos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Blair Oaks, they pushed their record up to 6-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games.

For Blair Oaks' part, Lydia Sullens was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave Sullens a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Blair Oaks got a massive performance out of Jacy Lowrance, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Lowrance is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Belle Boessen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. California will challenge Boonville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Blair Oaks, they will square off against Hickman at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
