Basketball Recap: Caruthers Piles Up the Points Against Fowler

Caruthers waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They breezed by the Fowler Redcats to the tune of 94-14. Given the Blue Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Redcats are ranked 1226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Caruthers is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.6 points per game. As for Fowler, they dropped their record down to 2-20 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Caruthers will venture away from home to take on Sierra at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sierra will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Caruthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fowler, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fowler is facing Liberty at the right time seeing as Liberty is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
