Softball Recap: Early County Takes a Loss

Early County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Randolph-Clay Red Devils, falling 17-6. If the Bobcats were looking for revenge after losing 1-0 to the Red Devils when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mackenzie Sapp was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Kendahl Price, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Early County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Randolph-Clay, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Early County is set to take on their familiar foe Mitchell County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Randolph-Clay will challenge rival Terrell County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
