Baseball Game Preview: Miller County Pirates vs. Baconton Charter Blazers

For the second straight game, Miller County will face off against Baconton Charter. The Pirates will head out on the road to square off against the Blazers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Miller County 3.1, Baconton Charter 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Miller County is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Baconton Charter just ended the team's 12-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 9-1 to the Blazers. The Pirates were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the four games prior), but the Blazers' pitchers proved too tough.

Miller County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Cook, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Baconton Charter pushed their record up to 20-1 with the victory, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Miller County, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.
