Soccer Game Preview: Roosevelt vs. Davis County

The Roosevelt Roughriders will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Davis County Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt will be strutting in after a win while Davis County will be coming in after a defeat.

While Roosevelt's victory against Marshalltown wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Roughriders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Bobcats on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Roosevelt.

Meanwhile, Davis County didn't have quite enough to beat Des Moines East on Tuesday and fell 2-1. The loss put an end to Davis County's undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Davis County fell to 2-1-1. As for Roosevelt, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Roosevelt took their win against Davis County when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 5-1 score. Will the Roughriders repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
