Preview: Perkiomen Valley Vikings vs. Boyertown Bears
Perkiomen Valley is 8-2 against Boyertown since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Perkiomen Valley Vikings will be home for the holidays to greet the Boyertown Bears at 6:45 p.m. The timing is sure in Perkiomen Valley's favor as the team sits on 16 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Boyertown has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
On Sunday, Perkiomen Valley beat Sanford 39-30. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Perkiomen Valley has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Boyertown suffered a rough 49-26 defeat at the hands of Owen J. Roberts on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Boyertown in their matchups with Owen J. Roberts: they've now lost six in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Nicole Shimukonas, who scored five points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season.
Perkiomen Valley's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Boyertown, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
Everything came up roses for Perkiomen Valley against Boyertown when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 72-35 win. Does Perkiomen Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Boyertown turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
