Basketball Recap: Loyalton Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Loyalton won the last time they faced Plumas Charter, and Catherine Petterson did her part to make sure it happened again. The Loyalton Grizzlies managed a 41-35 win over the Plumas Charter Warriors on Friday thanks in part to Petterson, who posted 11 points along with five assists and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played.

Plumas Charter's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucy Joesph, who put up 11 points and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycee Pew, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 17 rebounds.

Loyalton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Plumas Charter, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-13.

Loyalton has already played their next match (against Los Molinos), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Plumas Charter will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Elk Creek at 4:00 p.m. on January 28th.
