Football Recap: Ambridge Takes a Loss

Ambridge extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-7. They took a blow against the Montour Spartans, falling 55-21. The Bridgers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

As for Montour, their win bumped their record up to 5-3. They haven't had any issues with Ambridge recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Montour found their leader in sophomore Brandon Bennett, who rushed for 125 yards and one score on only eight carries, and also threw for 85 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Bennett's passing game has become a key predictor of the Spartans' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Caden Halajcio, who rushed for 57 yards and two TDs.
