Football Recap: New Milford Comes Up Short + How To Watch

New Milford extended their losing streak to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 1-7. They were beaten by the Brookfield Bobcats 50-21. The Green Wave were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.

Despite the loss, New Milford still got an impressive performance from Tj Ruedemann, who picked up 185 receiving yards and two TDs. Ruedemann showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 65 yards.

As for Brookfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Brookfield had a senior duo take command as Matt Ackerly gained 190 total yards and three touchdowns and Tyler Buttendorf gained 173 total yards and three touchdowns. Ackerly also set a new season-high mark in rushing yards with 137. John Lopes was in the mix as well, providing Brookfield with one score.

New Milford has already played their next game, a 50-28 loss against Stratford on the 14th. As for Brookfield, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-0 win against Weston on the 14th.
