Soccer Game Preview: Viewpoint vs. Windward

The Viewpoint Patriots will challenge the Windward Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Viewpoint's victory against Crossroads wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots skirted past the Roadrunners 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Viewpoint were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Windward put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their undefeated season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Archer School for Girls a 7-0 shutout. Given Windward's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Archer School for Girls are ranked 795th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Windward's offense was hitting Archer School for Girls from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Lexi Neiman led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Windward's win bumped their record up to 11-0-2. As for Viewpoint, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
