Basketball Game Preview: Vista Panthers vs. El Capitan Vaqueros

Having just played yesterday, the Vista Panthers will jump right back in to play the El Capitan Vaqueros at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Vista has given up an average of 49.6 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Vista is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They took a 63-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Del Norte.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for El Capitan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 69-59 win over Eastlake on Friday.

El Capitan's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points over those games. As for Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Vista took a serious blow against El Capitan in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 70-29. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
